Summer Coolness

Or click MP3 File to start your computer's media player.

In this episode of The Book of Life, a show about Jewish people and the books we read, we get ready for some cool summer reading.

> We talk to Lorie Ann Grover, one of the founding author divas of ReaderGirlz, an online magazine that connects gutsy girls and the authors who write about them. (Check out their MySpace page, too.) In July, ReaderGirlz will feature our next guest, Melissa Schorr.

> We meet Melissa Schorr, debut author of the teen novel Goy Crazy. (She also has a MySpace page.)

> We hear from musician Scott Leader, who joins Steve Brodsky and Robbi Sherwin in forming the cool new Jewish band Sababa. Their debut album is Pray for the Peace.

> Julie Sandorf, director of, reveals the many ways that Nextbook contributes to Jewish reading and cultural discussion.

Background music is provided by The Freilachmakers Klezmer String Band.

Books and CD's mentioned on the show may be borrowed from the Feldman Children's Library at Congregation B'nai Israel. Browse our online catalog to reserve books, post a review, or just to look around!
